I used this on my 2004 Kia Optima and boy, am I glad!
My car looked great with metallic paint, but still when you touched the body, you could feel a roughness all over. Any amount of washing and scrubbing did not help. I brought this as I read the reviews and wanted to try it out one weekend.

Wash your car, park it in the shade, put on a generous amount of the lubricant, take 1 clay bar and rub - the magic starts now.... as you rub you can feel the roughness becoming glassy smooth in that area. What happens is the clay bar traps the roughness inside it in a 'shearing action'. Aha.... that felt nice. So I went on and rubbed the whole car and it's in great shape now. The WHOLE car is smooth and glassy now. I did this job last week and even today as I got into my car, I ran my fingers over the top to feel the smoothness. Hey I worked 2 hours for it, might as well enjoy it!

You need a good amount of lubricant (that comes in the kit). I think the clay bars may last for 5-10 jobs, but the lubricant may last only for 2 jobs, especially if you are claying your car for the first time. My arms felt a bit sore from rubbing for 2 hours, but it was worth it! Be a man... enjoy the claying! Highly recommended product. I intend to clay my cars 2-3 times a year to keep this feel!

I found this product to be good. I tore through the bottle of instant detail that you are to use as lubricant. Might need a extra bottle to do a truck. I wonder if soapy water would work just as well. You can really tell the difference in smoothness. I will probably use the clay during my washing of the car with the soapy water when I am going to put on a coat a wax afterward. So, my thinking is to wash car to get heavy stuff off, then clean soapy water with the clay bar over the surface to smooth it out, then wax with Mothers Syn Wax using the Powerball and finish off with instant detailer where needed. Overall, I use all Mothers products. Yeah they are kinda pricey but I try to use a little at a time to make it last. As far as hand rubbing goes the Syn Wax is worth it as far as saving on elbow grease.
